Matt Cutts discusses Google’s practice of banning other major websites (including Forbes) for gray/black hat techniques such as cloaking. The explanation was caught on video (thanks Chris Davies!) at SES San Jose 2008 in response to a question about why other small websites were picked on while larger websites get away with link buying, cloaking, etc.
